Strings Attached

An internationally-acclaimed roster of Galway’s finest musicians come together to mark 20 years since ConTempo Quartet became Galway’s Ensemble-in-Residence. Three unique concerts celebrate music as a universal language of connection, community and creativity.

Jazz standards and classical strings intertwine in audience favourite JazzTempo, led by wunderkind Matthew Berrill with an all-star octet. Grammy award-winning composer Bill Whelan treats classical and traditional worlds as equals in his world premiere composition performed by ConTempo Quartet and rising stars of Irish traditional arts, siblings Séamus and Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta. Internationally renowned pianist Finghin Collins joins ConTempo Quartet for the final event supported by Music for Galway and the University of Galway, set in the ambient surrounds of the Emily Anderson Concert Hall.
