Galway Music Residency presents its renowned multi-genre series LIVE once again at the new time of 3pm on Saturdays 4, 11 and 18 December on Galway’s iconic Druid Lane. 3 Kinds of Music went online during the pandemic across two digital festivals but is finally back in a live setting. Each event is curated by a special guest and will feature some of Ireland’s best emerging and established musicians in pop-up gigs throughout the weekend.
To close the series, on Saturday 18 December in The Mick Lally Theatre, guest curator Anna Mullarkey will treat audiences to a tasting menu of visionary music. Anna, Galway composer and performer, will grace the stage herself with her unique weaving of electronics, piano and voice. Galway musician Emma Lohan, will also feature, showcasing her dreamy melodic folk pop. This immersive otherworldly event will be rounded out by ConTempo quartet will perform music by Philip Glass.
This series of events is free, family-friendly, and donations are welcome, but booking is required. Tickets are available from www.druid.ie on Monday 29th November. In light of increased Covid cases, capacity will be capped at 50%. Vaccine certs must be presented to gain entry.
