As part of its ConTempo Countywide series, join Galway Music Residency for an afternoon of Easter music and poetry set in the beautiful gallery of Ballinasloe Library. This special collaboration is presented in partnership with Ballinasloe Library & Group 8.
Join ConTempo Quartet and members of the artist collective Group 8 for this evocative Easter performance includes the music of Joseph Haydn and poetry by Mark Strand. The music and poetry are interwoven in an hour-long meditation on "The Seven Last Words of Christ" with members Group 8 sharing readings between movements of stunning music performed by ConTempo.

ConTempo Quartet is the resident ensemble of Galway Music Residency and was RTE’s Resident Quartet from 2014 until 2019. Praised as a “fabulous foursome” (Irish Independent) and noted for performances which are “exceptional” (The Strad) and “full of imaginative daring” (The Irish Times), ConTempo Quartet has forged a unique place in Irish musical life.
